Hard baits
Scope body and mould, lip or profile, internal weight transfer, rattle choice and hook layout as separate drawing decisions.
Bring a drawing, colour direction, mould idea or private-label brief. We will route it to factories that can actually build the requested lure program.
Custom lure sourcing starts when an existing model cannot carry the product decision. Send a drawing, measured sample, annotated photo or a clear set of dimensions, then identify what must change: body profile, internal weighting, colour system, hook arrangement, marking, packaging or all of them. Keep product requirements separate from the brand direction so a supplier can price design review, tooling, samples and production as distinct steps.
For every requested feature, say whether it is a target, an example or a pass-or-fail requirement. Water, retrieve, target species and market can provide test context, but they do not prove a lure will perform. Exact tooling status, factory identity, capacity, MOQ and lead time are Not confirmed until the drawing, sample and supplier record have been reviewed.
A custom program should state whether the supplier is adapting an existing cavity or creating a new mould. Record the body dimensions, split lines, draft, internal weight location, ballast or buoyancy target, hook and hardware clearances, and the revision that a sample must follow. Ask for tooling scope, sampling gates, ownership, custody, permitted reuse and what happens if the program stops. Do not assume that paying a tooling charge answers every ownership or access question; put the agreed terms in writing before production.
Weight and balance need a test method. A target mass alone may not describe the cast, sink or retrieve requirement. Define the sample conditions and which measurement or water test is required, then keep the result attached to the approved version.
For colour, provide a reference system, artwork or physical chip and identify the acceptable variation. List coatings, foil, eyes, logos, embossed marks, laser marks, packaging artwork and regulatory or language needs separately. Private label is a set of approvals: brand mark, product mark, card or box, barcode and carton information. A render is not a production approval.
Use a written sample and an approved reference for the next gate. Before mass production, confirm the final drawing, colour set, hooks, markings, pack-out and inspection points. The production status, repeat capability and schedule should come from a current supplier record; where they do not, keep the field Not confirmed and ask the next question.
Scope body and mould, lip or profile, internal weight transfer, rattle choice and hook layout as separate drawing decisions.
Scope cavity or tool, compound and softness, additives, colour system, pack count and private-label artwork.
Scope head or tool, weight, hook, skirt or body, finish and the marking or pack system that needs approval.
Scope the custom blank profile, thickness, balance, finish, hardware and card or box artwork before sampling.
Scope blade geometry, clevis, wire, body, hook, colour system and brand marks as one controlled sample brief.
Send a drawing, measured sample or annotated reference, then list dimensions, weight or test target, material, hooks, colour, markings, packaging, destination and quantity. We will identify the fields still needing supplier or sample confirmation.
Ownership and custody depend on the written tooling terms. Ask who controls the tool, where it is stored, whether it can be moved or reused, and which revisions are included before approving a program.
Yes as a sourcing route, but product marks, packaging artwork, barcode, language and approval samples must be listed separately. No private-label capability, MOQ or delivery promise is treated as confirmed without a live record.
